My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Handsome Rye is a four or five year old Rottweiler with a full tail who weighs about 75 pounds.. He is calm and quiet and is a reserved dog with people he does not know, which is typical of his breed. He adores his people and needs a bit of time to get used to his surroundings and to know who his new friends are. He is not difficult just reserved. Rye likes to carry his stuffed toys around and show them off, he is soft natured and wants to please. He is a sensitive soul that needs a home that trains in a positive manner. While he is currently in a foster home with other smaller dogs he would do best as an only dog. He is not a dog park dog and will not be adopted to people who use dog parks. He has been around other dogs, but thrives when he is the main focus of the household. He is very interested in cats and we have not had him in a home with cats so that is unknown but prefer a cat free home. He will benefit from more education with obedience work but has the basics down like: Sit down come and no. This dog would do well in a "learning/ training" type home that lives that lifestyle so he can use his smarts and expand his horizons. He is smart and loyal. He has shown slight reactivity to other dogs on leash in some situations, so Rye will need an owner who will manage that and work on improving it. Rye loves being brushed and is great for his bath and force dryer as well as when he gets his nails dremeled. He rides well in the car and likes to go for outings. This is a dog that will make an amazing best friend. Rye needs an owner that has had similar breeds and has clear dog skills, he is an amazing boy, but is not a starter dog. We will be looking for a human to match his smarts and loyalty. Adoption donation is $275.00 to an approved match that fits his needs. If you are interested in Rye is application can be found at http://www.rescueeverydog.org/Adoption.php
