I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Bernie's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Bernie's Story...
Look at this precious face! Bernie is a three year old boy, searching for the perfect home. He came to us as a stray last week with two other dogs. Be sure to check out his friend, Cybill. She's looking for a home too!

Weighing 50 pounds, Bernie is on the larger side. He loves to go for walks and would make an excellent walking/jogging companion. Bernie also enjoys romping in the yard, playing with his rope toy and giving puppy kisses to his human friends! He is a dominant male and would prefer to meet any future canine buddies before making things official. Bernie is also cat-friendly!

Please note, he did test heartworm positive. Bernie's new family must be ready to help him undergo heartworm treatment. The cost is included in our $80 adoption fee, but treatment requires Bernie to stay as low energy as possible for approximately 60 days. Bernie has also been neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped! For more information, please contact us at the shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bernie, a Germantown Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow for sale in Germantown, or seeking a Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Germantown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Germantown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Germantown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow breeders who help with Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Germantown paves the way for another one to be saved.
