My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This beautiful girl is Roxy. She is a pure bred Chocolate Labrador and is about 5 years old. She is solid brown and has short slick hair. She is a smidge overweight now at about 45 lbs. She has a pinkish brown nose and little almond shaped eyes that follow you with much interest and admiration..

She is still learning about the good parts of life. You see, she was kept in a very small pen, as a breeder dog for most of her life. She is so grateful now to be out and about and receiving affection and enough food.

She is still completely lost and uneducated about being indoors. She looks at everything with a questioning expression. She likes to be petted and loved on, very much. She is working on house training and it's going very well. She knows exactly what food and treats are. She went without for so long, that she seems to be worried that they will go away again. She takes treats too eagerly and needs more training and practice at taking them politely. As it is, we don't want her to be with small children, that she could snatch food from. She is good with strangers and kids, other than the food issues. She is good with other dogs and cats too. She is quite comfortable outdoors and enjoys her space in the yard.

She will need a home with room for her to be comfortable outdoors, probably in a fenced yard. She is a little playful but mostly just wants a companion. She will need her new family to understand that even at 5 years old, she is just now learning about so many things. She is spayed and fully vaccinated and ready to have a new adventure in life with a real family of her own.
