I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, and up to date with shots.
Stella is a lovely, fawn 20 month old female bullmastiff. She's extremely affectionate, but at the same time, is very slow to warm up to strangers and can be guardy. She's living happily, after a long, slow, introduction, with two cats at her wonderful foster home. Stella does have a healthy prey drive, and will chase lizards and squirrels, so an outdoor cat would be at risk, as well as an indoor cat who ran. Stella is very reactive to barking dogs. Stella could possibly live with a large, calm male dog, again, with a slow, careful introduction. She will require an owner experienced with large, strong guard breeds, who is prepared to continue work with sweet Stella to insure that she's a confident member of the family. Stella is crate trained, vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and her adoption fee is $400. For more information, please complete the online adoption application at www.bullmastiff.us/rescue.
About American Bullmastiff Association Rescue Service - North Port, FL
The American Bullmastiff Association Rescue Service's (ABARS) mission is to find homes for unwanted Bullmastiffs that come from shelters or are owner surrenders from people whose lifestyle or financial situation has changed. Occasionally ABARS will get Bullmastiffs that have been abandoned at a local veterinarian's or from a good citizen that has found the dog and exhausted all means to locate the dog's owner. ABARS is not a placement service for our members' unwanted or returned dogs. We do accept owner surrenders from people who have purchased their dogs at pet shops or backyard breeders, but most of the dogs we place are of unknown origin and unknown age. ABARS will not rehome a Bullmastiff that has any history of aggression to adults or children. ABARS cannot accept for placement dogs that are Bullmastiffs mixes - we only take dogs that are known to be Bullmastiffs or can be represented as such. The Bullmastiffs are neutered or spayed before they are adopted and receive all the vet care they need so they can be represented as being in good health.
