A Cheshire Cat!

We have our very own Cheshire cat here at the Coronado Animal Care Facility! With his chubby cheeks, smiling face, green eyes and sleek body, Butch looks just like the Cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland!

Butch is a happy go lucky fellow with a sweet disposition who loves everyone. He has made it purrfectly clear that his favorite pastime is getting pets. He calls to anyone who looks into his room asking them to stop and visit and give him the pets he so thoroughly enjoys. When you sit down with to him, he curls up next to you and then stretches and turns so that you can give him gentle belly rubs. And of course he melts when you rub his chubby, chubby cheeks ;-)

While pets and attention are number one on his to do list, he also likes to play with his favorite cat toys. He likes interactive play, but will also entertain himself while the humans are away as evidenced by his scattering his toys around his room when he is alone.

Butch is definitely a people cat and will make some very special person an extremely affectionate and loving feline companion.

Are you looking for a super friendly and social feline companion to give you purrs for pets? Butch is all of that and more! Come meet him to see for yourself what a special cat he is.

You can arrange to meet Butch at the Coronado Animal Care Facility by calling Bob at 619-840-9727. The facility is located at 1395 First Street at the south end of the Ferry Landing complex.

If you are interested in adopting Butch, you must first complete a Cat Adoption Application and meet with a PAWS of Coronado Cat Adoption Counselor. Cat adoption applications are available at the facility or Cat Adoption Applications may be completed online.

About PAWS of Coronado

About Our Rescue Group...

Since 2003 PAWS of Coronado has worked with the Coronado Animal Care Facility to provide shelter and find homes for orphaned cats, kittens and dogs relinquished by their guardians, stray or abandoned cats, and cats rescued from abuse or neglect.

We are a small grass roots organization committed to 100 percent placement of adoptable animals and envision a time when every friendly, healthy, homeless animal in our community can be cared for until a new family is found.

Our cats are extremely socialized, relaxed, trusting and loving in large part to our cat petting program. Our dogs are equally socialized and trained due to the dog walking program. The caring hands and hearts of the volunteers and ACF staff help the animals thrive even in a facility environment.

You can become involved with PAWS of Coronado as a volunteer or as a member (there are a variety of levels of annual dues) or by contributing a memorial plaque for the Memorial Wall at the Coronado Animal Care Facility.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Come meet the cats, kittens & dogs for adoption at the Coronado Animal Care Facility (ACF) at 1395 First Street in Coronado, CA. The ACF is open daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm except on major holidays. Cat Adoption Team members are on call daily to come meet you at the ACF and help you choose the perfect cat or kitten. The ACF staff will introduce you to the dogs and the Dog Adoption Team will help you with the adoption.
