Laurie's Story...
Laurie here. I traveled from Puerto Rico to find my forever home. I am still nervous with new experiences and people (more so men) so need lots of socializing time. Along the way I seemed to have forgotten what my breed mix is but the folks here tell me I look like I have some Hound in my bloodline. I am still pretty young and have plenty of time left to grow so the folks here are expecting me to be medium when full grown. Do you have the time and space in your home for a sweet pup like me? I am on the shy side and will need extra socialization do to this we will need a family with children 10 and up. Then stop by and say hello to me today!

Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Laurie, a Gloucester Hound (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
