My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wendy is a 7 year old (estimate), 5.8 pound Yorkie girl. She is being fostered in Ashland City, TN.

Wendy's adoption fee is $275. All adoptions through UYR require a Vet reference, personal references and a home visit.

Wendy came to us from an owner who rescued her from a Puppy Mill. Her former owner had an in home day care. Due to Wendy's years in the Puppy Mill, the children, noise and activity made Wendy very nervous and fearful. Her owner sensed this was not a good environment for Wendy and did the best and most loving thing for her by letting her go to UYR where we can find her a perfect adults only home.

Wendy has been to the Dogtor and is in relatively good physical health given her former life. She needs to be spayed, have a dental, and have her microchip inserted. However Wendy's emotional and behavioral issues are more complex. Wendy is currently fearful of many situations and seems especially fearful of men. She stiffens up when you try to pet her and will run backwards and jump into her foster mom's arms. Wendy does seem to like having another small dog around. The Dogtor has prescribed some medication to help Wendy relax but she will need a very special and patient female adopter with another small dog to help her learn to trust humans and be able to give back emotionally.

Wendy is doing well in the house training arena and is using potty pads and going outside.

Wendy is going to need lots of care as well as lots of love to get her to where she needs to be. If you can help us with her care we would be very grateful. To help with Wendy's care please visit our website and click the PayPal button near the bottom of our home page. Thank You!
