Jorge is a sweet young guy with the most adorable little face!! He is a 2-year-old Chihuahua mix who weighs 15 pounds. This cutie came to Heartland from an animal control in Kentucky. The shelter environment is a little overwhelming for Jorge and he is a little timid. He prefers for people to go slowly with him and talk sweetly to him to let him know everything is ok. Jorge enjoys going out for a walk and sniffing around in the yard. He likes to run with his walker and makes a good running partner! Jorge really likes having his volunteer friends sit so he can be a lap dog! He really appreciates getting pets and hearing sweet talk. He sometimes prefers belly rubs!Jorge loves treats! Jorge will do best in a quiet home without small children. If you are a loving person who would love to give Jorge the loving home he deserves, then please make plans to stop by to meet Jorge soon! He is waiting for you!

About Heartland Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill humane 501 c 3 organization dedicated to finding homeless pets forever homes while educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets in order to help with the pet overpopulation problem.

Dr. Herbert Preiser, DVM and founder of Heartland Animal Shelter wanted to make a difference by saving the lives of pets who might otherwise be euthanized because of the over-population of unwanted pets. Dr. Preiser opened Heartland Animal Shelter in October of 2002.

Heartland's vision is to eliminate euthanasia to any adoptable animal. Heartland asks for your support by spreading the word about the importance of why pets should be spayed or neutered in order to prevent overpopulation of cats and dogs. Together we can make a difference!
