Maggie-Adoption Pending's Story...
Maggie is a spunky two year old black and tan mini Dachshund. Maggie is an all around sweetheart that needs special love and attention. Maggie has some socialization issues and would do best with a more experienced adopter that can train her socially and channel her energy appropriately. Maggie has not been at the rescue long so we are still learning about her personality. She can be shy in the beginning and barks out of fear. We do not recommend Maggie go to a home with small children as we are still working on her socializing. Maggie does wonderfully at other meeting dogs. She loves to play so she will need a dog that can keep up or be assertive enough to tell her no. Maggie would make a wonderful companion and would fit great in any home that is committed to helping her along the way.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maggie-Adoption Pending, a Marcellus Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Marcellus, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Marcellus.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marcellus already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marcellus breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marcellus paves the way for another one to be saved.
