My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Look at that doll face! This is Poppy. She’s a Pit mix, possibly Catahoula, but she’s certainly 100% love muffin weighing 65 pounds. Poppy was abandoned after having several litters of puppies. She’s so sweet she doesn’t even hold a grudge. She opens her heart to every person she meets in hopes one will love her back. She has an amazing spirit and a calming energy. We believe Poppy is about 4 years old. Her gorgeous brindle coat is so much better in person. You really have to meet her. She’ll melt your heart if you give her a few moments of your time. When she gets nervous she’ll come in for a hug and maybe even give you a little kiss. Poppy will need help learning proper leash manners and needs basic socialization, but she’s ready and willing to learn. Her worst habit is climbing up to try and hide her face in your neck when she gets nervous. She loves car rides and hikes. Really, she loves any activity where she gets to be with you. The best activity is when she pretends to be small and slyly climbs into your lap. She fostered with large dogs and did fantastic. She’s currently living with smaller dogs and it doesn’t seem to be as good of a fit, although she does love her kitties. She would especially love kitty siblings that enjoy snuggling with her. We haven’t seen her with kids, but she seems like she’ll do amazing with them. When she was found she was wearing nail polish so it’s safe to say she’s patient and gentle. She’s excited by toys and treats but she has great manners and waits for them to be given to her. This girl is a catch! Do you have a little time and maybe some extra love to give? Adopters must own their home and have a fully fenced yard. Her adoption fee is $150. Visit mustlovedogsnw.org to download the adoption application.
