These babies were left on the doorstep of a local vet clinic at 4 weeks old. Huddled together in a box trying to stay warm, they were starving. Taken from their mother way too soon they were placed on a foster home so they would get the care they needed and socialization of adult dogs. The pups are healthy and doing well. There are 4 boys and 3 girls and they will be ready to meet visitors in a few weeks. If you would like more information please email us. 11/1/16

About Heart of Texas SPCA

About Our Shelter...

Our History:
Our shelter was established in May of 2000 as a No-kill, 501 (c) (3) non-profit shelter. At that time animals were fostered and adopted out by word of mouth. In November 2001 adoptions were done out of a donated space at a local veterinary clinic, staffed completely by volunteers. We outgrew that space quickly and moved into our own location in 2002. We are now located on IH-10 West in Fair Oaks Ranch, near Boerne, housing only dogs. We have made great improvements threw the years and hope to increase the number of animals rescued, increase adoptions, fundraising events, and reach more of the community. We provide a temporary shelter, rehabilitation and care to homeless and unwanted dogs until responsible, loving homes can be found. As a no-kill shelter, we want to help reduce the number of animals euthanized each year by educating the public on the importance of proper pet care, animal behavior and overpopulation prevention.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption application, brief interview, meet and greet, and adoption fee are required. Some of our dogs do require a home visit.
