My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Rowdy. He is a Blue & Gold Macaw, presumed Male, and is approximately 21 years old. Rowdy came from a home in which he was very loved. His human passed away many years ago and her husband was left to care for him. Due to him being female preferential, it was hard to interact with him and he was ultimately surrendered. He grieved for a long time and that led to some feather plucking which has gotten much better since he's come into rescue. He tends to be very cage territorial, however once he is out and away from his cage, he does just fine. He will step up and enjoys having his head scratched. He does talk, but only when there isn't anyone around. Rowdy is female preferential, therefore he will only be adopted to a woman, NO EXCEPTIONS. His ideal home would be one as an only bird. Despite his many positive attributes, he is still a work in progress and he will need someone to work with him consistently. He is marked special needs due to his feather. His follicles are not completely damaged and have the ability to grow back as long as he continues to lead a balanced diet with minimal seed and plenty of fruits and vegetables.
