Facts about Eli
Breed: Australian Shepherd Mix
Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Eli is about 2 years old & 50ish lbs. He is very sweet & chill about 50% of the time & a heavy wrestling/play partner with another dog the other 50% of the time. A pretty awesome mix of calm & playfulness :) He can get to wrestling hard with anther dog, but he is very submissive to more alpha dogs. We are working on house training, but he is using my dog door as well. He keeps a clean crate, but he is anxious to get out when a person first arrives home. He rides very well in a vehicle & loads great!!
Our mission is to help homeless pets! There was a huge need in the Manhattan community for another rescue effort. We are a caring network of foster homes who provide TLC and time for that pet to find their 'furever' home. We are all volunteers, dedicated to our mission. We believe that euthanasia of perfectly adoptable pets is unacceptable. The sterilization of pets is critical in reducing the number of unwanted pets, as well as closing down bad breeders everywhere.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our pets are showcased every Saturday at Petco/PetSmart in Manhattan, KS. Our summer hours are non to 5 PM. Our cats are present for adoption events Saturday and Sunday at these locations. We also do special events in the Manhattan community with our dogs as opportunity presents itself.
Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption process is easy; we require an application in which we contact references and vets. Once approved the adopter signs an adoption contract that specifies that the pet will come back to us if they can not keep the pet int he future. We consider all of our adoptions as 'trial' adoptions; if the pet is not a good fit for the family, the pet comes back to us, no problem. Our adoptions fees for adult dogs are $160. For puppies the fee is $160 with a $80 deposit returned when the pet is spayed/neutered. Adoption fees for cats is $75.
