Abe's Story...
Abe is a male Lab, 2-4 years old, & approx. 50 lbs. He is a sweetie & super interested in following his person around. Abe did manage to escape from the city shelter he was in by climbing the chainlink & was also caught literally opening the chainlink gate latches with his nose. Even though Abe uses his intelligence to "escape" his enclosure, he has been very loyal in that he doesn't go anywhere. Just stays put & waits for his human to return. He may do best with a privacy fence, as he has not escaped from his foster so far. Abe would love a home where he gets to hang with the family most the time. He does play & interact with other dogs, but he is always conscious of where the people are. He is doing pretty well with potty training & is using the dog door to go in & out as he pleases in his foster home. Abe does fine & keeps a clean indoor crate at night & while his foster mom is away at work.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abe, a Manhattan Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Manhattan, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Manhattan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manhattan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manhattan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manhattan paves the way for another one to be saved.
