Potato's Story...
A kind person brought in little Potato to our shelter after finding him as a stray. We estimate him to be about 6 weeks old, even thought he only weighs just over a pound! Potato was born with a deformed right eye, and though he may have some depth perception issues, he can see out of his good eye, and was given a clean bill of health by the vet. As so many orphaned kittens tend to be, Potato is desperate for the warmth and closeness that a mom provides, and he is quite distraught living in a cage by himself. All Potato wants to do is to curl himself up on your shoulder for a cuddle and a nap. Potato LOVES to eat, and also toys, especially balls or anything that makes a noise! If you're interested in changing the world for this sweetest of Potatoes, please contact us! Give us a call at 828-698-7107 or email at www.blueridgehumane.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Potato, a Hendersonville Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Hendersonville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Hendersonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hendersonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hendersonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hendersonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
