Uno's Story...
Oh my! Is that a cat posted by a dog rescue? It sure is!! Uno is a special guy who happened to wonder into the yard of just the right person. He was lucky enough to find the home of one of our animal caretakers who would not just look the other way. Uno had a severely infected eye and was lost and alone as a stray kitten. He must have know where to get help because he was scooped up and taken into a warm home. Uno went through intensive care for his eye, but in the end it could not be saved and was removed. Uno is all better now - he is just a one-eyed kitty. He remains in his foster home and his foster mom has learned he with kids. He is also litter trained if the litter box is kept clean. He loves going on car rides and loves to cuddle. Uno lives with a dog, but he needs a few days to get used to a new dog. He also gets along with cats. Uno loves a scratching post and his foster mom has not had a problem with him tearing things up. He is a playful guy who loves cat toys. Uno is a Domestic Short hair who is about 5 months old as of November 2016. He is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. If you would like to give this one-eyed sweetie a happy ending, please complete an adoption application at

  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Evansville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Evansville paves the way for another one to be saved.
