Walter's Story...
Hello, my name is Walter! I am looking forward to finding an open, understanding, and loving new family. My life started out where I was secluded and didn't have much of a chance to sleep inside where I could enjoy the company of a caring family.

I love being around people and would be thrilled to have the opportunity to find a true home to call my own. With new people, I can be a little shy at first, but I warm up fairly quickly and am learning every day how to enjoy activities that were foreign to me in the past. I have found I enjoy being able to cuddle next to people I trust, leaning my head against them while being petted and held while getting ready for an afternoon nap.

I am learning basic commands and trying to focus my outgoing energy into my lessons. I am very playful and would love, with a bit of time and understanding, to have a family who will play with me and take me for walks around the neighborhood so that I can explore and see more of the world. If you are interested in adding a devoted and loyal companion to your family, please stop by and visit me today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Walter, a St. Louis Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
