My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Itsy, a precious Affenpinscher-Pug mix, is looking for an Affen-friendly home! This 2-year-old black and gray beauty is a full-grown adult though she weighs only 12 pounds. She is sweet, skittish, smart, curious, and stubborn. In other words, a typical affen-pug girl! She is an escape artist and races out the door or wiggles through the fence for her adventures. She slips her collar easily so wears a harness on her walks. She needs a loving and patient adult home to finish her leash and potty training.

She follows her foster mom around the house, adapts quickly, and enjoys learning. Her foster parents are retired and have other rescue dogs that keep her active. Itsy has not been around children and probably is too excitable and nippy to be with young children at this time. She is playful, but not suited to rowdy dogs that play rough as she is small and easily injured.

In her foster home, Itsy races around the house and yard at warp speed with her buddy Molly (another Affen-mix) who is about her size. They chase and wrestle until they are both tired, then settle down for a snuggle and a nap.

Itsy sleeps in her crate at night in the bedroom near Molly in another crate. Itsy and Molly came from the same shelter. They have been apart for several months, and were recently reunited in foster care. Another dog like Molly would help Itsy work off her impish energy.

Itsy is an adult dog, who is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. She is ready to join her new family in her new home today! Her adoption fee is $200.

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

Interested in meeting Itsy or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
