My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are looking for a new loving home for this sweet little pup. Simon's original owner could not keep him so he is terribly shy (although enthusiastic and friendly) and it will take a little time and patience for him to trust again. If you are looking for a pup who is instantly crazy about you without getting to know you first, Simon is not the little guy for you.

Simon is a Corgi and Papillion cross. He is 4 1/2 years old, perfectly house trained, healthy, neutered, and vaccinated. Right now he has a few extra pounds and is approximately 16-17 pounds, but his normal weight would be around 13-14 pounds. Simon was very much loved, had great care, and has had the same owner since he was a tiny puppy-he came from a family friend and was one of a litter of 4 puppies.

Simon seems to get along better with dogs larger than himself, as he is sometimes a bit aggressive with smaller or same-size dogs. He is in general a very happy, tail-wagging dog who loves to play. He loves going for walks on the leash and will bring the leash to you. He hasn't been around cats, so we do not know for sure how he will react but he is not overly aggressive when left alone. One of the things he likes is to play fetch, run after toys and bring them back to you or have you chase him for them, and to snuggle on the couch, especially when it gets chilly and you throw a blanket on. He sleeps on his favorite dog bed with his little blanket in the bedroom, and wakes up early in the morning to greet you with kisses.
