My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes There beneath the blue suburban skies I sit...... Meanwhile back Behind the shelter in the middle of the roundabout...-from 'Penny Lane' by The Beatles Meanwhile back at the shelter....Nope not any more! Penny Lane is out and about enjoying the freedom and care of a well loved pup. She was pulled from a high kill souther shelter into rescue and placed with an awesome foster family where she has learned all kinds of wonderful things. Penny Lane is a 6 month old red and black Redbone/Treeing Walker coonhound mix who currently weighs 34 lbs. She's more on the dainty size and we suspect she will still be a lap baby at her full grown weight of around 45 lbs. This precious pooch is already house and crate trained. She will go to the door to be let out when 'nature calls'. Foster mom says that even though she is super good she is still a super pup so at this time she is crated when no one is home to supervise any possible puppy pranks. She will be more house savvy as she grows and matures so crating should be a temporary training tool. She is not crated at night and is really good about sleeping on her doggy bed, the couch, or at foster mom's feet. Penny is just as smart as she is adorable. She loves to please and learn new things. She is doing quite well with her leash walking and is working on mastering some basic commands such as down, sit, and drop it. She is great with other dogs and likes kids. We are not sure how she feels about cats as there are none in her foster home. Penny loves a good romp around the yard playing with her foster siblings, she has no problem keeping up with the big dogs. Like most pups she loves to chew so she will need a nice assortment of chew toys to keep her busy and entertained (and away from shoes). She absolutely loves to snuggle up with her humans. It's pretty much routine that she will climb up in your lap and lay her head on your chest....sweet sweet cuddles. This cutie pie isn't a barker but she will let you know in hound talk that she wants your attention or some loving. Penny is already spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, current on preventatives, and micro chipped. Our beautiful baby girl is ready to move on to her forever loving home. She is the best of both puppy worlds happy and fun, loving and sweet. No doubt everything about Penny Lane will be more than adorable to your eyes and music to your ears, she will completely fill your whole being and be the light of your life.
