My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 7 years
Gender: Female
Color: Black & White
Weight: 37 lbs
Variety: Field

Meet the athletic, cuddly, and intelligent Molly! Her owner had her for five wonderful years, but recently a new baby has joined the family. Because Molly's behavior with children is questionable, the family has asked ESRA to help her find a new home. Molly is looking for an all-adult household and, of course, a new human best friend.

In a nutshell, Molly is a great cuddler and is exceedingly soft and loving. She is very intelligent, active, and fun, although she is also calm. She loves exercise and attention. She is over seven years old, but she still has lots of energy and shows no signs of slowing down.

Medically, Molly has urinary incontinence that is completely controlled with medication. Her seasonal allergies are also controlled with medication as needed, and she has had yearly dental cleaning and exams.

Molly prefers to be the only dog in her home, although she is indifferent to other dogs outdoors and in public places. She has never lived with an indoor cat, but she is okay with outside cats. At her previous residence, she peacefully shared her yard with chickens.

Molly is housetrained and is used to free rein in the house. She will sleep where her family prefers her to at night except during storms, when she wants to sleep with her family. Molly is a quiet, patient sleeper, and she waits until her people are awake to move around.

This active girl loves to chase squirrels and rabbits and to be outdoors. Molly has gone running and skijoring (a sport which combines skiing and dog sledding) with her previous owner. Her favorite activity is fetching balls, on land and especially in the water. Molly loves to swim!

Though Molly has encountered children of many ages, she is uncomfortable around them and would prefer to live with adults. Commands are easy for Molly; she knows Sit, Stay, Down, High Five, Back Up, Heel, Come, and Off. She is generally trustworthy in the yard, and she comes when she is called. She rides well in the car.

In the house, Molly requests attention: she nudges hands for petting and will gladly sit on your lap or on the couch with you if you let her. Molly's former owner hosted over two hundred guests in her home through a short-term lodging company, and the guests said overwhelmingly that Molly was the best thing about their stay.

Could Molly be the companion for you? If you think so, please contact her case managers at the e-mail address below.

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Molly.
