Sheldon's Story...
Sheldon, affectionately known as Shelly, is a beautiful long-haired grey kitten. He and his brother Riley came into Dusty Paws foster care from the great outdoors. Born around the first week of September 2016, they are probably sons of a free roaming mother. Both kittens are socialized, healthy, and gently playful.

According to his foster mom, Shelly is sweet and a bit sassy, with a big purr. He enjoys being held, stroked and brushed. A typical little guy; he is high energy and loves to play with anything and everything. He will probably be happiest living with a single person or couple, and wouldn't mind being your one and only pet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sheldon, a Castro Valley Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Castro Valley, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Castro Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Castro Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Castro Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Castro Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
