My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gus has had a really rough life during his 9 years up until now. This poor dear came in with such horrid dental disease that was left unaddressed that not only did it rot all his teeth out of his mouth but it left fractures thru'out his jaw. And because of this he is unable to close his mouth and must be on a special diet to allow him to eat. But even tho he was so neglected in the first part of his life, he is very loving and loves to curl up in your lap to cuddle. It is so sweet calling him across the yard and watching this 4 pound snugglebug scamper across the grass to climb into your lap. He is very, very fragile tho - his legs are as thin as matchsticks. For this reason we will not put him in a home with kids or even one with rambunctious grandkids. Gus is one of the smallest pups that ever came into my care and I want to make sure he is safe in whichever home he does to. Gus is neutered, current on vaccines and will be microchipped. He holds his own with the bigger dogs but I think he would prefer being an only pet. He doesn't like sharing my lap. He is still very thin and care must be taken to ensure he gets enough to eat and drink given his jaw issue. He was taken to the specialty hospital down in Red Bank and the surgeon said there was nothing that could be done to fix his traumatized mouth. But the bright side is he no longer seems to be in any pain and has gotten used to dealing with his handicap. It certainly hasn't affected his ability to love.

Gus is a very special dog and you will need a very special home in order to be approved. We are going to be very picky about where he goes so please do not be offended if you are not chosen. He was already adopted once and returned so his next home must prove to us that they can care for a guy having his problems without throwing in the towel. His adoption fee is $250.

We keep our website current so if you see a pet listed here you can be pretty certain it is still available. Send in an application located here and we will be in touch. (www.allstar.petfinder.com)
There is an adoption fee if you decide to take one of our "All Star Pets" home. We prefer homes within a 50 mile radius of Linden, NJ.
