Gerry's Story...
This striking red boy is Gerry, 8 years, 11 pounds of doxie personality. Gerry ended up in a shelter when his family said they couldn't take him with them. He was sad, shocked, and it's taken him time to get used to the change. Gerry was very unsure when he came to his foster home. It took time for him to warm up to his foster parents. Gerry gets along well with the dogs in his foster home, likes to cuddle up in a doggie bed with one or more! He could be an only dog in an adults only home as long as not left alone for long hours. Gerry needs a patient, doxie savvy owner. Please reach out and/or submit an application to adopt at Gerry's adoption fee is $350 to help rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gerry, a Andalusia Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Andalusia, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Andalusia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Andalusia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Andalusia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Andalusia paves the way for another one to be saved.
