Facts about Deloris

  • Breed: Retriever (Unknown Type)/Hound (Unknown Type) Mix
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate - With Tan
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
This family was found at an abandoned home in Alabama. The neighbors called a friend in rescue and she went to get them all to find that momma, Deloris, had lost two of the puppies and was laying beside them not wanting to leave their side. She took Deloris and her remaining three puppies to the vet and within 24 hours we lost two more puppies! Our hearts were broken!

The sole remaining puppy will be available for adoption but not until we have completed momma's heart worm treatment as we just cannot take her only remaining baby from her now. She is the sweetest mommy we have ever seen. She had an incredible bond with her babies and this loss is tough. But, she's been wonderful and loving and gentle in spite of the "new" circumstances for her. We love Deloris and know that she's a one of a kind dog that comes along every so often.....she is a SOULFUL and BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT.

Deloris will complete heart worm and then be spayed. She will come microchipped, current on all vaccines and will in foster care in PA while waiting for us to find her perfect home! She deserves so much more than she got out of life thus far!

About Diamond Dogs Rescue Inc - NJ Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Our rescue focus is on adult dogs from the southeast that are in high kill shelters. Our plan is to fully vet as needed, evaluate and train as needed in preparation for adoption. We place our rescues in a foster home setting to prepare our dogs for a home of their own and to determine the best match for that rescue. Please keep in mind that a rescues are located in foster homes up the east coast. They can be transported to their forever home

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our dogs are all in foster care throughout NJ , and New England and various other locations. We do NOT have a physical location for your to visit our dogs, They are seen by appointment in foster homes.

We require 3 references plus a vet reference as well as a home visit.Once you have been approved for adoption by filling out an application completing a home visit and having your references checked, we will put you in touch with the foster to meet the dog with your family. Sometimes we will do a home visit and bring the dog to the home visit after your application is approved.

Our adoption fee is $300 for adult dogs, unaltered pups under 6 months require an additional $50 "refundable" spay/neuter contract fee.
