Smokey's Story...
Smokey is a handsome 2 year old coon hound mix that was surrendered with his brother Coors. It was no fault of their own, they are both amazing dogs, they just also had a knack for escaping their yard when unattended. Smokey is just a regal gentleman who walks great on a leash and loves his people as much as his brother! Smokey is up to date on shots, rabies, heratworm negative and is neutered. He also weighs 58 pounds. Ready to meet Smokey and make him apart of your family? Give us a call 757-365-6318 or email animalservices@isleofwightus.net

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smokey, a Windsor Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound for sale in Windsor, or seeking a Coonhound dog from a breeder in Windsor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Windsor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Windsor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound breeders who help with Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Windsor paves the way for another one to be saved.
