Facts about Skippy

  • Breed: Mastiff Mix
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With Black
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Skippy is a Mastiff mix but the only thing large about him is his heart. He has three visible legs - the fourth leg (amputated, but he doesn't know that as he still attempts to use it) is his invisible leg. He gets around just fine, in fact if you're not careful, he will pull you down the street. Skippy loves to play, cuddle and be with his people, other dogs, and eat. He's a chow hound. However, because he's hopping... we need to keep his weight down so prepare to watch his weight if you are interested in being his forever family. He's neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and ready for his forever home. If sweet Skippy is the guy for you, fill out an adoption application at www.schoolofwags.org

*Texas adopters only, please*

About School of Wags

About Our Rescue Group...

School of Wags is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and re-homing large breed dogs, primarily Mastiffs, from situations where they are homeless due to owner surrender or in high kill shelters. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes and local veterinarians we are able to substantially reduce the flow of unwanted animals into shelters to be euthanized, provide them with loving temporary care, vaccinate, spay or neuter and find them well-matched, carefully screened, loving, adoptive, forever homes.

We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing training, education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, balanced behavior training, pet first aid and good nutrition. School of Wags is a dynamic, evolving institution that is an agent of change for the animal welfare world. We are operating innovative and beneficial programs for animals and people and are making an impact in each family that will last for generations.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our dogs live in foster homes and meet potential adopters after the adopter is approved.

We do occasionally host events at our location and invite the public to meet our foster dogs. Those events are posted on the School of Wags Facebook page.

Our Adoption Process...

Adopters can submit an adoption application from our website, www.schoolofwags.org.

A telephone interview is done with the potential adopter, and we check personal references, vet references, and speak with landlords for renters. We also do a home check before final approval.
