Skippy's Story...
Skippy is a Mastiff mix but the only thing large about him is his heart. He has three visible legs - the fourth leg (amputated, but he doesn't know that as he still attempts to use it) is his invisible leg. He gets around just fine, in fact if you're not careful, he will pull you down the street. Skippy loves to play, cuddle and be with his people, other dogs, and eat. He's a chow hound. However, because he's hopping... we need to keep his weight down so prepare to watch his weight if you are interested in being his forever family. He's neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and ready for his forever home. If sweet Skippy is the guy for you, fill out an adoption application at

*Texas adopters only, please*

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skippy, a Killeen Mastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff for sale in Killeen, or seeking a Mastiff dog from a breeder in Killeen.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Killeen already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Killeen breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff breeders who help with Mastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Killeen paves the way for another one to be saved.
