Carl's Story...
Carl is a bloodhound. He is approximately 5 – 6 years old, and his foster says, “He is out of this world!” He is well-mannered, quiet, and loving. His perfect day is to sleep on his bed only taking breaks to eat! He also enjoys wandering around smelling just about anything. He is dog, cat, and polite children-friendly. A little timid around noise, he calms quickly. He loves having his ears and back scratched. This guy would be a great companion for anyone. He does not jump and he is working on basic commands. Carl weighs 75 pounds, is heartworm negative, up to date on shots, and kennel trained. If you want Carl in your life, just fill out an adoption application at www.schoolofwags.org

*Texas adopters only, please*

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carl, a Killeen Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bloodhound for sale in Killeen, or seeking a Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Killeen.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Killeen already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Killeen breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bloodhound breeders who help with Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Killeen paves the way for another one to be saved.
