MILO is the very definition of a heart melter! One picture makes you feel a connection with this guy. After meeting him you have zero hope of not falling in love. His adorable pouty under bite, his deep kind eyes, his precious personality, his big handsome body, or a combo of all 4 make him irresistible. Sweet doesn't even begin to describe MILO. His foster parents say they can't think of any family with which he wouldn't be a wonderful fit. We agree as long as the family understands he is a very large and strong pup. He is excellent with other dogs and with children. He shares his foster home with an adult Labrador retriever and a little girl. He doesn't live with any kitties but we are happy to introduce him to cats if you have feline family members. We are confident he can be friends with cats too! MILO loves to ride in the car and play with toys. His favorite thing on earth is to give and receive affection...he will sit at your feet and soak up love endlessly. He is 2 years old, house trained, and is excellently behaved in his crate while his foster family is at work. This guy is the total package. MILO's forever family will be winning the doggy lottery.

MILO is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines.
His $450 adoption fee includes his interstate health certificate and transport to the Midwest.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions ( and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

MILO, a Milwaukee American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bulldog for sale in Milwaukee, or seeking a American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Milwaukee.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Milwaukee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Milwaukee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bulldog breeders who help with American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Milwaukee paves the way for another one to be saved.
