Jake & Nova's Story...
Jake & Nova's Story...
Jake is a handsome senior dog whose guardian could no longer care for him. Jake is estimated to be 12-15 yrs old. He is in excellent physical condition and still enjoys a brisk walk, roaming the yard with Nova, chewing a marrow bone, going for a ride in the van, and some affection. He's a bit "on guard" these days, wondering where his dad is. Doesn't take long to warm up and is a super nice dog. He and Nova deserve a chance to live out their lives together in a nice home, not in a kennel. Jake will chase cats. He would prefer to share his home with just Nova, but I think he could get along with a friendly, laid back/senior dog around his own size.
We believe that there’s a great home for every dog. We’re committed to bringing dogs and guardians together who are right for each other. We do it by knowing the dog, and knowing the prospective guardian.
We look at lifestyle, energy level, experience, tolerances. It’s communicating about expectations and commitment, not just for the next few weeks when the dog comes into their life, but for life.
We stay in touch. After the initial home visit, we’re available to offer help, support and advise. We welcome knowing how everyone is settling in. Pictures are great, an occasional email. Our job is to support the owner and dog throughout the process.
