Brett's Story...
AVAILABLE 10-18-16 Little Brett was picked up as a "stray running at large" by an Animal Control Officer on October 12. He's a handsome little Beagle dog, who like most Beagles, loves people and other dogs. Brett went to our local "Bark for Life" event put on by the American Cancer Society on November 12. He was pretty popular not just because he's so cute, but he also let everyone know he was there with his Beagle bark (which is more like a holler than a bark). In fact, he won the best bark contest. He was great on leash and enjoyed sitting on laps to keep warm. He even seemed to enjoy his car ride. Brett would make a great family member, so come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City and meet this great little guy. He's vaccinated, tested negative for heart worms and will be neutered at adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brett, a Elizabeth City Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
