Are you looking for a lovable, cuddly, silly and playful dog? A dog that has a tons of personality and is ready to explore with you what the world has to offer on adventures. A dog that will be loyal and follow your lead until the very end? Then that would be me!

Let me introduce myself, my name is Brutus. I’m a 5 year old Shar Pei Mix and weigh 63 pounds. I was rescued off the streets in less ideal conditions but I have healed up nicely and even got to learn what it is like living inside a home. I cannot believe what I have missed out all of my lonely life. I’m a quick learner and I’m house and crate trained already. I still have to work on my leash skills but I’m getting there...just be patient with me. I’m good with other dogs and older children. I think I would do best with an experienced dog owner as I can be a handful if I know I can get away with it. I love being active and going to parks but I also can be a couch potato like you have never seen before.

This is what my foster dad had to say about me:
“Brutus will be your best television buddy you have ever wished for. He will not bother you or interrupt as he is quite intrigued with this kind of entertainment. I have never seen a dog watch television as intensely as Brutus.

Brutus has amazing energy and loves to be outside. He is your typical happy dog, always excited to see me when I come home and even more excited when he knows he is going for a ride in the car. The car is his big thing. He is very well behaved in the car. He doesn't try to stick his head out the window and for the most part, he sits there like a good boy just watching the world go by.

He loves to be tickled and pushed around on the sofa. He gets very silly and comes back for more. He plays in a very gentle manner. Brutus can still be a handful on a leash as he gets distracted easily.

He likes spending time outside in the yard and monitoring the squirrels in the trees and I’m sure hoping one of them would just fall down. He got along well with my female dog from the moment I took him home. They play and run together often. He is incredibly silly when he plays. He is a true joy to be around and to watch.

Brutus is friendly with everyone he meets including children but I don't recommend a home with very small children yet because he tends to get excited and could easily knock down a child without meaning to. Homes with cats are a bad idea. He is a cat chaser as well as a squirrel chaser…he just can’t help it.

Brutus is definitely, 'Mr. Personality'! He will make you laugh so hard and smother you with kisses and cuddles until you cannot take it anymore. No worries, he will stop if you ask him too but it is hard denying him when you know where he came from.”

**Brutus is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas but is available for transport to most major US and Canadian cities via United Airlines PetSafe for an additional $275. A customs fee may apply at Canadian airports. Ground transportation to Colorado is available for $75, and several locations in the northeastern US for $175.

The adoption fee of $200 covers spay/neuter, microchip and current vaccines.

About Corridor Rescue Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Corridor Rescue Inc. is an all-breed 501(c)(3) non-profit street dog rescue on a mission of mercy, rescue and awareness -- a mission to save lives and correct an injustice to animals who have been thrown away and left to fend for themselves in an area in Houston dubbed the "Corridor of Cruelty." Here, trash and animals are discarded without thought on a regular basis. We're not talking about a handful of animals, but hundreds of animals fighting to simply survive another day.

Founded by one person, Corridor Rescue has grown its team of volunteers, from all walks of life, united in an effort to help this community of orphaned animals in desperate need of help. We work to rescue hard to capture dogs and cats, to rescue and rehabilitate diseased and injured dogs, to facilitate the rescue of animals mainly from the Corridor of Cruelty but also from other areas of Houston, and to educate about spay/neuter and animal cruelty laws.

Success happens on the streets every day, yet we know that our fight is far from over.
