My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are looking for Foster to Adopt homes for our 4 Pittie puppies. Since the puppies are too young to neuter but need to be in their forever homes we place the pups with adopters who have signed foster contracts (with the intent to adopt). Prior to their neuter they will be in foster care with their forever family. Star-Mar will continue their vet care during that time which includes their neuter. After they are neutered the foster contract will be voided and an adoption contract completed. Adopters must live close enough to come back to the Wooster area for vetting.

Meet William! He came into rescue with his litter at 3 weeks. They were born in a shelter on August 30, 2016. Puppies and pounds don't mix well so we offered to foster them with their mother who had to be returned due to extenuating circumstances. When they were weaned Star-Mar decided that we wanted to find those perfect homes so we went from fostering them for the shelter to pulling them into rescue.

William and his brothers and sister have been a delight . They have grown into beautiful pups on a natural raw diet, plenty of exercise and a lot of love and attention.

William will be a medium size Pit Bull. He is a very loving puppy that is fun and energetic. These puppies are extremely well mannered and socialized far beyond their age. They have been raised on a farm with horses, cows, sheep, goats, deer, cats and other dogs of all sizes. They have spent these beautiful days outside romping in 15 fenced acres and sacked out in dog beds in the house in the evening. William is working on house training. They are extremely well socialized.

William needs an active owner/family. The adopter will need to be home more than an 8 hour work day allows; someone that works very part time ( limited hours a day), works from home or is retired. Puppies are not a candidate for spit shift workers because even if someone is home when the other is gone, much of that time is spent sleeping. Adopters must have a physically fenced yard. We will not adopt without a fence so please respect our requirement. Adopters will need to show proof of appropriate insurance. We would prefer adopters that are experienced with Pitt Bulls but will consider any responsible dog owner. He would be fine with respectful children 12 or older. William would enjoy another dog but would be fine as an only dog with a super committed owner.

These puppies have been raised naturally. We would like to find owners that will continue to feed them a species appropriate no grain raw diet whether that is true raw, frozen prepared raw, freeze dried or dehydrated or at the minimum, a high quality, no grain kibble. We do blood titers instead of randomly vaccinating and use natural flea and heart worm preventatives. We are happy to discuss our natural care program with you.

William and his siblings have had an extraordinary start in life. They have been raised with only positive treatment and loads of exposure to people other animals and different situations to develop them emotionally and with vital nutritional food, fresh air and unlimited exercise to develop them physically. AND they show it in every way.

Puppies are a lot of fun but a LOT of work. Adopters must have the energy, time and inclination to see that their puppy becomes a good canine citizen. William is a smart and engaging puppy that loves attention. He has had that start in life that we wish for all puppies.

If you feel that your lifestyle and environment can meet William's adoption requirements please contact Martha at learymjri@aol.com or call 330-466-3667 or 330-262-0515 for an application or more information. William's adoption will require an approved application and home visit. The adoption must be completed with the adopter coming to the foster home. Adoption fee is $250.

PLEASE READ; If you are using a commercial, chemical flea preventative like Trifexis, or Frontline, etc., these are dangerous neurotoxins that poison the life force of your dog (his or her blood) in order to kill a flea. There are serious side effects including seizures and even death from the use of this product. It is so toxic that it is under the control of the EPA, deadly to wildlife, a toxic water pollutant, dangerous to children and pregnant women.. With over 40,000 complaints of sickness and death a year reported to the EPA from the use of these chemical flea products, we feel we can no longer put our dogs in homes who use or will continue to use these products for flea prevention. We are happy to talk with you about natural flea preventatives. Please understand that whether you put the flea product on the dog or in the dog the way the dog's blood is poisoned is the same.
