My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Omega's story is heartbreaking. Here is one thing we know for sure, she will be a loving, loyal companion. A few months ago we received a call that there was a dog living on an abandoned property. She had been roaming the area for 7 weeks. Omego was just as scared as we were when approaching her. She had found a safe place huddled against a block wall and a garage. It had become her home. When we finally were able to get her on a leash, she quickly; in a matter of seconds, became a big lap dog! Not long after in our care, a gal contacted us. Omega was their dog they claimed. She had gotten away from them while visiting downtown and they miss her (they did not post her online nor leave lost flyers). After confirming she did indeed belong to them, we let them know we were concerned for her health as her stomach was grossly bloated. After surgery, it was confirmed she had an infection on her uterus. Omega was returned to the family sterilized and micro-chipped with a big bag a food. A happy ending? A week later they asked if they could turn her over to us as they could no longer keep her. This has been a very stressful time for Omega. She is confused and maybe a bit depressed. We are looking for a home for her to call her own for the rest of her life. She is a large dog and incredibly loyal. She wants to obey and please. Omega does need to be an only dog and needs a handler who understands her tendency to get excited when she sees other dogs. She does respond very well to commands, loves to go for car rides and long walks. We have a dedicated volunteer who walks Omega daily and she always brags how well she does and how sweet she is. Omego is about 5 years old, she has such touching eye contact and will make a soulful companion. If you are interested in giving this sweet girl a loving, safe home to call her own, please take a moment to fill out our application ($100 donation), http://www.povertyspets.org/adoption-form and we will get back to you 48 hours upon receipt.
