My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Coal and Micah are eight-month-old black male cats. Their mom showed up one morning in a residential backyard, scavenging for food, with Coal, Micah and their siblings in tow. She came back at another time, with only Coal and Micah, so we suspect her others didn’t survive. She became pregnant again and simply disappeared, leaving Coal and Micah alone in the yard. The resident feared for their health and safety, and brought them to us. We can only imagine what these young boys experienced, but it does our hearts good to see them now. We cannot separate them, if for any reason Micah is taken from the cage, Coal cries terribly for him. They are very playful, and we put some boxes in for them. You can’t help but laugh at these two and their merry game of hide and seek among the boxes. And then you smile, because after they give each other their “baths”, they curl up together for a quick nap before the next round of hide and sick. They are two special boys, so if you’re looking for a pair of two, come meet Coal and Micah!

At PAAWS RI, all of the cats that come into our care are spayed/neutered, receive a rabies vaccination, distemper vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping, and testing for Feline Leukemia/FIV.
