Opal's Story...
Hi, I'm Opal. I'm a petite pastel calico with long hair. I have four white paws. Everyone says I'm so beautiful! I'm an alert, playful, fun kitten who likes to run and frolic around my foster home with my brother Obsidian. We would love to be adopted together. I love to play with dangly toys and people, and I come when my name is called!

Behaviorally and socially, it’s best to adopt kittens in pairs, or into a home with a playful cat. Kittens really need a playmate in their forever home…and then they can get to play, and snuggle while you're not home. If you are only interested in adopting a single kitten, and you’re home most of the day, and able to spend interactive time with a kitten, we will consider adopting out a kitten older than 4 months. Each foster home knows the kitten’s personalities best, and we follow their recommendations for single placements. The current foster home is requiring that these two siblings stay together since they are truly a bonded pair.

Opal’s estimated date of birth is 7/20/16. Her adoption fee of $135 includes her vet exam, FVRCP vaccination, FIV & Feline Leukemia testing (neg), routine deworming, flea control, microchip and spay.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Opal, a Mt. Prospect Domestic Longhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Mt. Prospect, or seeking a Domestic Longhair kitten from a breeder in Mt. Prospect.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mt. Prospect already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mt. Prospect breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mt. Prospect paves the way for another one to be saved.
