Roscoe was turned into our rescue when his owners no longer wanted him. He is a sensitive boy who doesn't understand where his family has gone. Currently fostered with kids, cats and other dogs he does best with small dogs as large dogs scare him. We were told that he is a mix of a rat terrier and a miniature pincher. At 12 pounds he is fully grown. He is crate trained, housebroken (almost) and loves loves loves attention! His adoption fee is $325 and includes neuter, microchip, vaccinations for age, deworming, health certificate (out of state adoptions) and is current on flea/heart worm medications. Please fill out an application at www.sophiedogrescue.org if you are interested in bringing him into your home. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog!

About Sophiedog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

SophieDog Rescue is a small home based rescue in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. We have been rescuing puppies and dogs for over 20 years from local shelters, southern hi-kill shelters and owner surrenders. We do not have a physical shelter so most of our dogs/puppies are located in foster homes in and around the Greater Cincinnati OH area.

We believe with all our heart that every dog deserves a chance at happiness. That means every dog deserves every day a safe place to live, a full belly, proper medical care and a loving family.

We believe that there is a forever home waiting for every dog - and it is our job to find it. With our many years of experience we understand what it takes to match the right dog to the right family. Our track record is proof of our success.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Meeting our adoptable dogs are by appointment only or at a few select adoption events. Once your application is placed, we usually contact you within 24 hours. If you are a good fit for the dog you have applied for we will set up a meeting time.

Our Adoption Process...

Before you can adopt any animal you MUST complete an adoption application.

We ask questions about your home, family, other pets, and your plans for your new dog/puppy. We also ask for references, including your veterinary if you have other animals at home.

Please remember - we are not being nosy. Everything we do is to ensure that the animals in our care are protected and placed in a suitable home.

Our questions are aimed at matching adopters with the most suitable dog/puppy. It is very stressful and upsetting for everyone when adoptions don’t work out and pets have to come back to us. We are trying to give them the best possible chance of finding a permanent home

Once your application is submitted it will be reviewed and then we will contact you.

You will be asked to sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee ($325 for most dogs/puppies). This fee covers spaying or neutering, veterinary care, deworming, vaccines, food, and other items your pet has received while in our care.

If you think you are ready to adopt one of our animals please complete and submit our adoption form.
