Facts about Loki

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Loki is a super sweet dog with a lot of love to give...but only after he is certain that nobody is going to kick him or throw things at him. After months as a street dog, he has grown wary of humans yet his heart softens a bit each day in our care. Upon arrival he was so afraid that he had to be carried everywhere (not easy to do with a 60 pound pup). Even in his worst stage of fear, he didn't growl or argue with any of us. He is slowly learning that humans can be pretty cool, that other dogs aren't always going to steal his food and that cats are just...well, he's not sure what cats are other than boring. We are looking for a calm home for Loki where he can continue to blossom into a typical happy go lucky lab.

About Bullock County Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

The Bullock County Humane Society Animal Shelter houses dogs and cats that come to us mostly as strays. We have 20 dog kennels and 6 cat cages. We are a rehab, rehome, low-kill shelter. We network with rescues, market our animals online, and conduct off-site adoption events to give our residents the greatest chances of finding loving homes. While the animals are with us, we focus on keeping them safe, healthy comfortable and enriched. All of our cats get daily communal play time and our dogs get individual or partner play time in large outdoor play yards every day for anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours at a time, weather dependent.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions are approved on a case by case basis. The shelter manager reserves the right to deny anyone the right to adopt any of our animals. Adoption fees also vary from pet to pet based on factors such as age, health, breed and temperment. Cat fees range from $50 - $60 and dog fees range from $90 - $123. Occasionally we will have reduced adoption fees for a variety of reasons.
