Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.
My name is Katie and I am a 6 year old spayed female Poodle mix who came to the great people at NBS Animal Rescue when I was found wandering the streets scared and alone. A kind Animal Control Officer rescued me and contacted my new friends at NBS Animal Rescue to help me find my fur-ever home.
I am a very sweet little girl who is very sensitive and shy. I love snuggling and spending time with my people that I trust, and I'm a super duper walker on a leash. I am good with other friendly and mellow dogs and even play a little bit with my foster canine brother. I'm learning how to do my personal business outside, but I'm not quite 100% there yet. It takes me a while to get used to new environments and situations so I really need a family who is patient, kind, and loving. I need a new family who will be gentle and patient with me as I learn how wonderful people can be.
You see, I had a tough life before coming to NBS Animal Rescue - someone wasn't really nice to me and yelled at me a lot - so loud noises, quick movements, and being yelled at really causes me to shut down and shake in fear and hide. With a soft few words, some tasty treats, and some patience I come around again looking for love. I just need someone who will show me how wonderful people can be.
Because I get nervous and shy in new environments, loud noises, and quick movements I need a home without kids under 14 years of age. I would prefer a family who was home often who could spend time with me and go on a few daily walks together.
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?
These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods.
-Children must be 14yrs or older
- 100% fenced in yard OR detailed plan on adoption event to go on several walks per day as she is not potty trained.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
