Chopper's Info...

I am housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Chopper's Story...
This is Chopper our 8 years old male Pekingese. He is super sweet and cuddly and loves to give kisses. He can be food aggressive, so it's best to feed him separately.

He is up to date on his shots and will be neutered before he is adopted. He did test positive for heartworm and went through treatment for that. He will be have to be on heartworm preventative for the rest of his life!! It is VERY important that anyone interested in adopting him understand that it is a must for him to be on this medication every month for the remaining of his years!! It's not right for him to go through this disease again!

He does well with other dogs, cats and children. He enjoys taking walks. He's a very loving companion and would make a great addition to just about any home!

If you think he could be the one for you, please email LPBHPR@aol.com for an adoption application!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chopper, a Portland Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Portland, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
