Jasper's Story...
Name; Jasper
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Gender: Male
Age: 1 year
Cats: ok – proper introductions are a must
Dogs: yes
Kids: no

Hi, It’s me Jasper! I just turn a year old and am a male Siberian Husky mix originally from Saskatchewan. My friends at SHARP rescued me from a feral life when I was 4 months old. I was adopted into a loving home who did some great work on training my basic commands. I do pull on leash, so a strong owner is needed. Unfortunately, my needs were too high for them and they had to make the very tough decision to return me to SHARP. I am a really good boy, however my feral past comes out often. I am scared of traffic and loud noises so a life in the city wasn’t working for me. I need a home in the country where it is more quiet to help me adjust to domestic life. In my foster home, I am in a kennel environment and my anxiety is way down! I come when called and trust my foster mom. I warmed up to her quickly! I also need an owner experienced with fearful dogs who can jolt. I am good with other dogs and curious about cats. They fascinate me, but tend not to like me. I am not sure how I would react if a cat were to swat me or run so I need proper cohabitation training or a home with no cats. I am up to date on my vaccinations and will be adopted on a neuter contract to be done once I am more settled into my forever home. I am located in Tweed, ON and my adoption fee is $100.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jasper, a Tweed Siberian Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Siberian Husky for sale in Tweed, or seeking a Siberian Husky dog from a breeder in Tweed.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tweed already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tweed breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Siberian Husky breeders who help with Siberian Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tweed paves the way for another one to be saved.
