Rio's Story...
Rio is a lovely Retriever mix, just a year old and weighing almost 51 pounds. He loves his humans and is very social and playful. He gets along well with other dogs and is even good with cats. Because he is high energy, Rio needs lots of playtime and loves long walks. Rescued by our sister organization in Mexico, Rio has been neutered, dewormed and fully vaccinated. He has made his way into foster care in Nanaimo where he awaits his forever family. If you are looking for a friendly dog to be a part of your active lifestyle, Rio is for you. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rio, a Vancouver Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
