Sparkey's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Sparkey! An 11 year old male Japanese Chin/Pekingese mix. His owners would love to keep him but are unable to care for him anymore due to their age. One of his owners fell with him and they were both injured (his owner especially). They brought him to us so that he could find a good home. Sparkey only has one eye but that doesn't stop him. He loves walks and being loved on. He only barks if he is cooped up or their are new visitors (but even then, it is rare).
He would do really well with a younger couple or a family. He really is just the sweetest boy.

Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sparkey, a St. Helena Japanese Chin/Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Japanese Chin/Pekingese for sale in St. Helena, or seeking a Japanese Chin/Pekingese dog from a breeder in St. Helena.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Helena already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Helena breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Japanese Chin/Pekingese breeders who help with Japanese Chin/Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Helena paves the way for another one to be saved.
