Hi, I’m Sparty. I’m looking pretty darn good now, but not long ago I was very skinny and very scared in a truck stop parking lot. My teeth were not good from malnutrition and I looked and acted pretty old. I wast thought to be 12 years old and full of cancer. That part is how I ended up at Senior Moments Weims as a hospice foster dog on a farm in Indiana.
Fast forward to today when I’m a healthy 70#, have had surgery on my mouth and also to remove some fatty lumps (no cancer!). I lost eight teeth, but boy, do I feel better now! Good dental care will be essential for me from now on.
I’m pretty energetic and the vet thinks I’m not a senior at all, probably 6-8 years old. I walk well on a leash and would enjoy a good jog if that is your thing.
I’m living indoors now, but I love access to the outdoors. If your home has a fenced yard and a dog door, I’d be in Heaven! I feel more secure when I can get outside whenever I want (SMW thinks maybe I lived outside before this and that I’m happier if I can retreat to what I know). I come right back in though, because I’m a huge fan of cushy chairs in living rooms.
Do you have another dog or two? Great! I love friends and would be happiest with other canines in my life. I’ve not been around cats at my foster home, so nobody knows what I might do around one. I have been good with children of all ages. As you would expect, I’m a velcro boy with my favorite human.
I love to play ball and am especially happy to steal one from my Weim sister. Car rides are also high on my list of favorite things.
