My name is April!

Domestic Shorthair Cat for adoption in Alexandria, Virginia - April

I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

April's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

April's Story...

April had to leave her family when a human baby was introduced who was highly allergic to her. Which made everyone sad, as April gets along wonderfully with children who are not allergic. She gets along equally well with adults, dogs, and other cats. What April finds most important in life is a warm lap to snuggle in. And while she will give you a lazy blink and stretch out a paw to try and keep you in place, she will graciously accept being dislodged when you need to get up and move. April loves to give kitty licks - it's a sign of affection and acceptance among cats, and she will continue to lick as long as you are willing to tolerate rough kitty tongue against your skin.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

April, a Alexandria Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Alexandria, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Alexandria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alexandria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alexandria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alexandria paves the way for another one to be saved.
