Otis's Story...
My oh my it's Otis! He's a silly 5 year old black lab mix that you will just adore. Richland County Adoption Center recently reached out to Friendship because they were out of space. Otis was one of the dogs that was transferred here so his history is not known. This social butterfly seems to love life and everything in it...except cats. Otis HATES cats. Sure seems like it was not too long ago that Otis had a home. Now he's looking for another. Hurry on down for Otis.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Otis, a Elyria Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
