Look at this sweet face. What is not to love about our sweet boy who has Happy written all over him. Our sweet boy still has some puppy in him. At approximately 2 years of age, he loves being petted and to be by your side. He likes his crate when it is time to settle down and rest. Dusty is neutered, current on all vaccinations, microchipped, has had no accidents in the house while he has been in our care. He gets happy when he is taken out to potty. His happy face is evident as he just kind of leaps and bounds around wanting to play. He is a pure bundle of love and joy who loves to get good food and treats. Dusty loves his walks and being brushed. He has done well when given a bath. Such a sweetheart. We have not introduced him to cats however when walked past other dogs who are barking, he just wags his pretty full tail.

He's a very loving boy, very playful, very ball-oriented, very demanding of petting when he wants attention. He will lift his paw to you requesting a shake or wanting you to pet him. Definitely people oriented, his foster says he will put his paws on your shoulders if you let him. He would benefit from obedience training. Definitely people-oriented, wants to be right by his foster moms feet at all times when sitting. Dusty is very strong and will need to be taught not to dash away with excitement when walking on a leash. He will need someone who is attentive to his strength during his walks and someone who will be strong enough to hold the leash tightly.

Because of his youth, energy, and curious nature, Dusty should be placed in obedience training shortly after adoption. Dusty is looking for a fun active family who will take him everywhere they go. He desires to be an integral family member. Come meet Dusty for an opportunity to be his forever loving family.

About Austin German Shepherd Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Austin German Shepherd Rescue's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home German Shepherds from across the State of Texas and to educate the public about the versatility and ability of the German Shepherd Dog from Family Pet to Working Dog.

We are not a shelter. We have no central location. All of our dogs live in homes with volunteers who donate their time and energy to save these dogs. Austin German Shepherd Dog Rescue is a 501-1(c) non-profit organization run strictly by volunteers.

Donations Needed!
All donations go directly for the care and re-homing of the dogs we rescue.

Dogs in our program receive immediate benefit from the generous contributions of our donors. We want the community and our donors to understand how these funds are used and to feel comfortable knowing that their donations are going directly to a needy Shepherd.

Here's how your donation can help:

    This Amount... Will pay for...

  • $10 1 month supply of flea protection

  • $15 1 day of boarding

  • $50 A veterinary exam and vaccinations

  • $75 A spay or neuter

  • $135 All of the above, and 1 month's heartworm preventative

  • $250 Heartworm treatment (removal) for one dog

The health of many of the dogs that come in to our program has been neglected.
Your generous donation... no matter how small... will help us ensure that one of our dogs gets the medical attention they need and deserve. To donate see

Volunteer to Help!

The need for caring volunteers is great! There is a myriad of things needed to keep AGSDR operating and allow us to take in, foster, treat, board, and adopt out the Shepherds that are in our care, and who are yet to come. We need people to transport dogs and/or supplies, assist at Meet & Greets, organize events, perform administrative functions and many other critical tasks. If you would like to volunteer, please send an e-mail to
