Heather's Story...
Meet Heather, a 35-lb., 7-month old, female hound mix. Heather is a loving girl who likes attention. Heather is doing well on the leash, and she is quickly learning manners after spending quite some time in a shelter. Heather does well with the foster's other dogs and cats, and she is outgoing with all people. Heather will likely be fine with children, too, but she will be a big girl, and and since she loves attention so much, she is still learning that she must give her humans their space. Heather is being crate trained and working on house breaking, and she is doing well with both. Heather is spayed, and she she is currently UTD on her vaccinations and is being fostered in Red Lion, PA.

We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all breed dog rescue. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $275 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs. Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $325 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. We are an all volunteer organization and we are always looking for more help. Learn more about adopting from us or volunteering for us at www.pack9rescue.org or check us out on Facebook for more information and a complete list of dogs available for adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Heather, a New Oxford Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in New Oxford, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in New Oxford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Oxford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Oxford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Oxford paves the way for another one to be saved.
