Merle's Story...
Merle is a 4 year old chunk who is as cute as a button- clearly. This adorable cattle dog enjoys being with people, but was a little shy when he first came to us, although he warmed up quickly. Merle has not been tested with other dogs yet and a meet and greet is required before he goes into a home with other dogs. Merle clearly enjoys every bowl of food he is fed, some would say a little too much. This Tubby boy would benefit from a bit of exercise and a healthy diet. Merle has a bit of hair loss on his back end, but with a little TLC it should be clear up nicely. Give this sweet boy a furrever home and he will give you all the love he has to give!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Merle, a Martinsville Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Martinsville, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Martinsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Martinsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Martinsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Martinsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
