My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Circe, a 4-month-old German Shepherd, Labrador Retriever, and Black Mouth Cur mix. She is a sweet and smart girl who is eager to be part of a family and to please. She can sit on command and lays down nicely when asked, which we taught her to do in 3 days. When she came to us, she couldn’t even walk up the stairs, so her progress has been phenomenal. We are working on housetraining with her and she is doing so well! If she is taken out frequently, she doesn’t have accidents in the house. She is very smart and curious dog and wants to learn new skills. She barely sheds, and if you brush her once a week, there is almost no hair loss from her. She does not love taking a bath, so we would recommend taking her to the groomer if you want to bathe her once in a while. She is also not a barker, and tends to only bark when she is scared (usually when she's alone).

She is an incredibly social dog that loves kids, other dogs, and adults. We’ve socialized her with many different people and dogs and she has been very well behaved and thrilled to meet every new face! She needs some help with her manners, and is VERY curious about what you are cooking, eating, and drinking! :o) She is a big girl already (approximately 40 pounds), but curls herself up sweetly when it is time to calm down and go to sleep. She sleeps beautifully next to the bed with a leash (she’s too young to be allowed to roam freely), and sleeps the whole night through without needing to go to the bathroom. She will need some training to walk on a leash with manners, but we’ve already seen great improvement in the last week.

She would do best in a home with another dog or someone who is home as she doesn't like to be alone and would rather spend time with her family.

If you are interested in meeting and thinking about adoption, please visit our website, http//www.wagginghearts.org, and submit a completed adoption application. Due to the high volume of applications we receive we are only able to process fully completed applications. All applications are processed in the order that they are received. On our website you will also find our adoption process and fees. Since we are a foster based rescue we are unable to set up meet and greets until a completed application is on file and has been approved.

Wagging Hearts is a foster-based, non-profit rescue organization.
